"The Docks, a ramshackle spaceport on the edge of Boomtown on the moon of Paquin, is a frequent last stopping point between the comparatively civilized Border Worlds and the chaos of the Rim. For many, the Jasper Hotel represents a last taste of the comforts of polite society before heading further out to the Black. For others, Kelly's Saloon, situated across the street, is a delicious taste of freedom and the first step into the untamed vastness of the Rim Worlds.

Not just a venue for everyone's favourite game of chance, but an attraction that manages to draw in every gambler, smuggler and card shark who wants a piece of the action from the Core to the Rim, and everything in between. The Docks, always a hotbed for smuggling and black market deals, is expected to be hopping with criminals and entrepreneurs blending in with the gamblers and the spectators. The local officers of the law and the Alliance garrison are both looking on nervously, whether wary for trouble or just looking for an angle on the action. It is a lively place where the entertainment almost outweighs the danger as spectators gather to wager, while old friends and rivals meet to play some cards, drink some booze, and broker some backroom deals."
